Network Hardware Resale (NHR) continued its long-time support of Santa Barbara County's United Way as NHR employees volunteered for the Lunch Bunch program on Tuesday, August 9.
Lunch Bunch connects adults throughout the community with poverty-level children participating in United Way's free summer program Fun in the Sun. NHR employees spent time with children ages 6 through 16 who were enrolled in the program at the Hollister location.
“Network Hardware is pleased to continue its support of the Lunch Bunch program which provides valuable services to hundreds of children in our community,” said Karen Anne Platt, Chief Financial Officer for Network Hardware Resale. “We’ve been thrilled to participate for the last four years, and with the joy it brings to the children as well as our employees, we look forward to it each summer.”
Thank you to the employees of Network Hardware Resale for making a difference in local children's lives!
At three Family Fun Night events earlier in August, Fun in the Sun kids were “Drummin’ Up Character” in a display of rhythmic beats, positive raps, and hip dance moves. The performance was led by locals Steve Campbell and Lindsay Rust of Dancing Drum .
The dynamic duo of Campbell and Rust created energizing songs and routines that reinforce positive universal values of trustworthiness, respect, responsibility, fairness, caring and citizenship, the traits composing the Six Pillars of Character.
As part of Family Fun Night, the children also performed Hip Hop dances choreographed by Santa Barbara Jazz Dance Academy, as well as singing and fun skits put together by Fun in the Sun staff members. The celebrations marked the end of the summer program.
On Wednesday, August 10, 2005, the Four Seasons Biltmore hosted the 5th Annual CEO Club Luncheon. Karen Earp, the new General Manager at the resort, offered a gracious welcome with Paul Didier, United Way President, and John Romo, Community Campaign Chair, following up with updates and information on the progressing community campaigns. Relly Nadler, Ph.D , clinical psychologist and world-class executive coach, offered the keynote address – educating and motivating CEOs to equip their employees for change through active emotional intelligence. Santa Barbara County's United Way extends a warm thank you to Four Seasons Biltmore for hosting another beautiful event. As always, our campaign is deeply indebted to the CEO Club for all the help and support they provide to Santa Barbara County residents.
