On June 28, 2007 members of the Alexis de
Tocqueville Society gathered at the rooftop patio of the Hotel Andalusia
for the 3rd Annual Tocqueville Recognition Dinner to honor Michael Towbes, our 2007
recipient of the Tocqueville Society Award for Outstanding
Philanthropy. This annual award is given to an individual who
exemplifies the highest attributes of philanthropy in our community.
Accompanied by his wife Anne Smith Towbes, Michael not only received his
award but inspired the audience with comments about his philosophy of
giving.
