Excitement was high at
Fess Parker's DoubleTree
Resort on the evening of December 7th! Over 200 supporters of
United Way of Santa Barbara County gathered for the annual Holiday
Bash to celebrate the successes of the 2005-2006 campaign and enjoy
an evening of holiday cheer with other community leaders. The evening
began with a rousing performance by Brothas from Otha Mothas.
The excited crowd honored the UCSB all-male a cappella group with a
standing ovation - a great way to the start of an evening of festivities
and fun!
The enthusiasm continued as Annual Community
Campaign Chair, John Romo, together with United Way Community
Campaign Director, Jennifer Gann, recognized and awarded some
of the key supporters of United Way. Westmont College President Stan
Gaede and his wife, Judy, were honored for their phenomenal
presence as Leadership Circle supporters of United Way of Santa
Barbara. Santa Barbara
Bank & Trust was honored with the "Outstanding Campaign
Committee Award" and the County of Santa Barbara was recognized
for again having an "Outstanding Employee Campaign." Kelly
Hughes was acknowledged for her exemplary leadership of Vista
Del Monte's employee campaign. Finally, Visiting Nurse and Hospice
Care of Santa Barbara was honored for its "Outstanding Non-Profit
Campaign."

that over 60% of the $3,002,000 for the 2005-2006 campaign has already
been reached! With more than $1,864,100 currently in and with more workplace
campaigns to run, hopes are high that the campaign goal will be reached
again this year. United Way's Community Campaign kicked off at Day of
Caring on September 17, 2005 and will culminate in the Annual Awards
Celebration on May 3, 2006 at the Four Seasons Biltmore.
