 When
Paul Didier, United Way of Santa Barbara County's Executive Director,
spoke at each of the trainings this summer for Fun in the Sun (FITS), he
stressed the importance of male Program Leaders and Site Coordinators
and their critical roles in the lives of the boys at Fun in the Sun.
During Montecito Bank & Trust's visit to Lunch Bunch at La Cumbre Jr.
High, bank employees brought several donations for the kids, as well as
organizing several activities. Among these donated items were “stress
balls” designed to look like baseballs. The kids were loving these
baseballs, and one asked a male Program Leader to sign his baseball.
Before you knew it, a line of kids formed for this young man to
autograph baseballs for all of them!
This is one example of the positive influence that the male Program
Leaders have on these boys. If the picture above doesn’t say it all, we don’t
know what does!
