Success Stories-Children

Pre-Kindergarten Summer Institutes....No Experience Required

Arthur,” a 4 old boy, is a shining “leap to readiness” success story. Though he had some pre-kindergarten experience, he was resistant to a new classroom setting, had trouble leaving his mom, and needed to adjust to taking a bus and to a new teacher. For several days he would not talk at all in class and was reticent to try activities.

He also scored very low on his reading and comprehensive testing. The teaching staff was patient and encouraging. Little by little, he adjusted.  He improved his interaction with others and he became an enthusiastic and confident doer and talker!

By week 3 at the Pre-Kindergarten Summer Institute, he was trying new things with energy and readily engaged in activities upon arriving in class. Arthur's parents (his dad had attended only elementary school and mom had no schooling) were proud of his transition. His parents took home class materials and information on how to help him. He left the pre-kindergarten class understanding more English and looking forward to kindergarten and meeting new friends.
