About the Loaned Executive Program
United Way of Santa Barbara County’s Loaned Executive & Internship Program provides an opportunity for companies to offer their employees a unique learning experience. Loaned Executives receive training that develops organizational, leadership, and public speaking skills and provides a unique networking experience in the business community. This position builds new business relationships and network with top professionals in south Santa Barbara County. In addition, the Loaned Executives help keep overhead costs low so more resources can go towards assisting people in our community.

Program Requirements
Loaned Executive candidates are self-confident, articulate, goal oriented and have the ability to guide and motivate others. They should be excited about sharpening their skills that will be useful to them in the workplace and learning more about their community.
Each Loaned Executive will work alongside United Way staff to work with local organizations, serving as United Way’s primary liaison, as they assist in the planning and execution of United Way workplace campaigns.

Loaned Executive responsibilities include:

•    Analyzing donation history and campaign potential
•    Planning and executing strategy for each account
•    Partnering with United Way volunteers to provide campaign support
•    Developing relationships with Employee Campaign Chairpersons
•    Preparing and delivering presentations to various audiences
•    Managing relationships to enhance campaign success

While serving with United Way, your employee will receive training and gain experience in the following key areas:
Sales – researching assigned accounts; preparing and making presentations; developing strategies based on past performance analysis; building relationships with customers
Public Speaking – presenting United Way’s key messages to large and small groups of company employees to encourage contributions
Management – goal setting and achievement; time management; resource utilization; volunteer supervision; teamwork
Community dynamics – understanding community needs and potential solutions; studying specific industries and/or geographic communities within the region; experiencing the interaction of the corporate, public and service sectors
