The event benefits United for Literacy’s Reading Plus and Fun in the Sun Programs. Proceeds will be used to provide an internet based reading improvement program for the Fun in the Summer program and for almost 30 public schools this fall from Lompoc to Carpinteria. There are currently over 4000 students in the county experiencing unprecedented success in reading due to this program and United Way’s commitment to education.
