Ortiz is a dedicated 14-year executive of United Way of Santa Barbara County. During Ortiz’s tenure with United Way he and his development team have raised over $50 million to develop and lead result-driven innovative community partnerships with a primary focus on education and financial stability. He has also led marketing and public relations campaigns and program/partnership branding. On January 2018, Ortiz established the Thomas Fire and Flood Fund. In Santa Barbara, the fund has delivered more than $2.3 million to support local nonprofits administering aid and offered immediate and long term direct relief to affected individuals and families. Ortiz holds bachelor degrees from the University of California, Santa Barbara and a Masters in Business Administration from Cal Lutheran University.
Ortiz and his wife Amber have two children, Isabella Rose (6 years) and Ethan James (3 years).
