Jackey wrote to tell us about her little brother's experience at Fun in the Sun
My mother worried about my younger brother, Emiliano. He had a hard time learning and never received the extra attention he needed to improve. That changed the summer between third and fourth grades, when he attended Fun in the Sun. He became an entirely different person as he told us about all the new friends he was making and everything that he learned each day.
During his third summer in Fun in the Sun, Emiliano took his responsibilities as an older student and role model very seriously. He taught the younger ones the ropes, and made sure they knew that they could come to him with questions. Through Fun in the Sun, Emiliano learned how to interact with other children and was able to catch up academically. It changed my brother's life, and my mother and I are forever grateful. Recently Emiliano brought home a report card with straight A's for the first time ever, and has plans to become an engineer. We know Fun in the Sun got him where he is today.
