Nicole graduated from UC Santa Barbara with a Bachelor of Science degree in Biological Psychology. Following college, she served as the quality manager and accountant for DKB Resources Inc. At DKB, Nicole worked to secure a Quality Management System and contributed to the Mars Rovers project for NASA's Jet Propulsion Laboratory. In 2010, she continued her education in finance and was hired as staff accountant for the Santa Barbara Neighborhood Clinics, assisting in the management of a multi-million dollar budget, handling grant reporting, staff payroll and accounting software conversion. She also served as the Controller for Domestic Violence Solutions for Santa Barbara County. Nicole completed her Master’s in Business Administration in late 2018.
Since joining United Way in 2017, Nicole has assisted department leads and UWSBC’s Board of Directors in managing and solving finance and administrative issues through consultation, analysis, reporting, and recommendations that have improved internal procedures and systems. Nicole has been consistently commended by external auditors as well as UWSBC’s Board Management Committee for her work ethic, attention to detail, and control and knowledge of our financials. As CFO, Nicole has expanded her leadership at UWSBC with a focus on finance, business planning and budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting, and will continue to support administrative and human resource needs.
